Holiday, Reminescence and the impact of the Stones

Traveling into Avebury we remembered Stones Restaurant and the great salads they used to have. Don’t expect to go there now as its gone and the National Front (Oops!!! I mean Trust) have done their level best to turn a great food outlet into a motorway service station forgetting that a motorway doesn’t currently run through Avebury Stone Circle.

Anyway we decided to explore our own salad options when we got back home and what a great sucess we had.

We had spinach, tomatoes and avocado in a honey and mustard dressing.

We topped this with mango, cous cous, mint, parsley, spring onions, chilli and olive oil (a great Nigel Slater recipe0.

And this was topped with a vegetable kebab of red onion, mushroom, red pepper and low fat vegetarian halloumi.

We commented on the fact that we had probablly eaten 3 pottions of our five a day and had eaten a lot of the food rainbow. The tastes lingered inot the night and unusually i choose not to spoill it with tea or coffee.
