Really pleased with the response to this one
Sun shrouded by clouds
Sun shrouded by clouds
Tree waits,
its roots tremble in anticipation
for the first drops,
then the cloud moves away,
to find another tree in need.

In trepidation
A Tree barely breathes
In a forlorn landscape
That clouds cloy to fool
A breath giving loner
Wendy Young
A stand alone tree
Under the sun
That sheds its’ rays
Against the clouds
To shroud a face
The face god
To ancient eyes
Misunderstood

Hope rebounds,
Scattering light,
Untamed sculpture of timber,
Weaving and bending,
Time well spent twisting,
Loves you differently,
Slows heart gently,
Longevity lost,
Reeling in the still.

Sharing the sky
The clouds and I
Detached sisters in space
Floating with heavenly grace
Solitary tree
Reaching up to thee

Connection
In the castle grounds a tall tree
buffeted by storms and gales
blowing across valleys and dales
waiting for sunshine to be free
stretches its branches, makes a plea
on behalf of the prisoner
jailed for being a chiseller
when able to pay for a round
but the good king he stands his ground
like Geoff Boycott the cricketer
Richard Downes
Outline of dog, eyes closed
and pondering.
Floating through skies, of blue,
just wandering.

Such a simple idea – but it reaps brilliant rewards!
